Welcome to the R. & A. Lovett homepage!

Edward James Lovett started with a poultry farm and market garden in 1920 at Shewalton, Irvine.  His son Ralph with his wife Agnes took over the smallholding in 1950 and Edward, their son, became a partner in 1966 as R. & A. Lovett supplying poultry and eggs.  As word spread about the quality of the produce from the farm, demand and their reputation increased dramatically.   In 1972 the new Irvine bypass came through the small holding so the business was moved to Bridge of Weir.

Today, with the company now run by grandson Edward, that reputation is still as strong as ever, but in the modern business environment the company has diversified into new areas to survive.  We still produce point of lay pullets and deliver them around Scotland, however we now also supply autogas, bulk & bottled gas via Ralgas & J Gas, fireworks via Ablaze of Glory and we can arrange to convert your vehicle to run on autogas (LPG) via Autogas Scotland.  We can now also help with the fight against midges, something that can be a rain pain (or bite) in the arm.  Please see the range of midge magnet products to find out more.

New this year we bought a Yue Jin pickup truck which runs on autogas.  Speak to Eddie or Dougie to arrange your very own very green truck with running costs less than diesel and also a lot cheaper to buy
